Popping up at Wilhelmina on Saturday 29th April from 6 until 9pm Chacma are a local duo, who have been cooking authentic Indian food in various pop-ups over the past three years. They serve a variety of regional and traditional cuisines native to South India. Their food encompasses the Sathvic principles. Recreating dishes that are fresh, balanced, clean with abundance of flavour, which vary from mild to hot, sweet to sour, mellow, creamy, tangy and salty is their forte. Starter Kara Vadai A popular tea shop snack from Kanyakumari, a coastal town in India’s southerly point. Deep fried fritters made with dried peas, rice ginger, onion and green chillies. ~ Thakkali Chutney A sweet and tangy tomato chutney, as an accompaniment to the Kara Vadai Main Arisi-Paruppu Saadam  A rustic dish from Kongunadu, Coimbatore region of Tamilnadu. Consisting of rice and lentils cooked with onion, garlic and spices. ~ Vendakkai Morkuzhambu A popular dish from Southern India. Yoghurt based curry with fried okra. ~ Enna Kathrikkai Kuzhambu A spicy Chettinad gravy dish.  Made with brinjal, a small Indian aubergine. Cooked with coconut, onions and an assortment of spices. ~ Lime Pickle A tangy and spicy lime, spice relish that is a great accompaniment to the mains.
